Moth Damage

I just picked up what I thought was a pretty decent ww2 USMC e.m.'s wool overcoat and just noticed some moth holes at the bottom of the coat. Can anyone tell me how I can repair this damage.

Go to a cleaner that deals with vintage clothing and have it cleaned. Then see if they know a good taylor who works on vintage clothing. I would just have it cleaned and leave it alone. Gary

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I would follow Gary's sound advice. Repairs can often look worse than the damage. Plus this is really now part of the age of the item. Many items will have the odd moth nip or two by now.

As Ade stated best left alone, unless its really bad

Wool can be invisibly mended, however this is an expensive process and as to the finished result well, I've seen good and bad. So in conclusion save your money and live the moth damage.
