    You can get oxalic acid from your local pharmacy. CVS here. I got some and it works well with the little odds and ends stuff I've tried it on. I hope to get another helmet to really see.

    Ok guys here is the result of using 'Rust Remover'

    This is what i started with..........



    And this is what i ended up with after leaving it to soak over night. All i did after the soaking was wash in warm soapy water and then dry. No rubbing or ANYTHING !!!!







    It even revealed a mark i had not previously been able to see !!!




    And here's the stuff you should get Halfords sell it

    Hi Relichunter, did you id the item you cleaned up? I cannot recall now if it was one that you asked about on the forum (there has been so much stuff ). Anyway, I now know what it is.

    For heavens sake keep up !

    This item is a bomb pistol, found on my ww2 airfield along with other items. AND...I must say, there has been 'so much stuff' but 95% has now been identified thanks to people like yourself
