Ammo box

Hey guys
Just need some advice from you gentlemen.

I have this mg42 in nice relic condition, and was wondering if it it possible to clean and get this ammo box to look like this???

hi , may be worth you while giving it a bath of oxalic acid. can work wonders with rust . but would advise caution when doing so , outdoors , protective glasses, gloves , corrosive and can be absorbed into skin resulting in damage to the liver.
do a search on the forum for correct use and expected results. great relic mg42 , would love that one....paul
