better reproduction insignia?
Good morning, everybody.
Since I am never quite sure where to post my questions regarding repros, please forgive me if this is the wrong thread...
I could really use some information on where to get some better-quality reproductions of the flat woven cockade wreaths i use
for my cap making.
My source in Germany only sells them in bright dark green or khaki, and they really look a bit cheap. Here's a photo compared to a
cockade wreath i own an that i believe to be an original, so you can see what i mean:
my research showed me that there are in fact sellers in the US who produce something resembling my original a little closer, these ones are
called "bevo wreath & cockade for assault gunner EM", but the shipping costs to germany are insane.
I would be very happy if anybody could tell me where to find good repros in Europe.
Thank you very much in advance,
all the best,
Helen

Good morning Helen,
first you can post (or ask to someone ) to post here in Sale/want topic.
I' m sure there is a lot of people here who got good reproduction of what you search.
As said harryamb2 there is a lot of repros from Poland, good quality for low prices.
In Germany i just check at Helmut Weitze and this is what i found :
https://www.weitze.fr/militaria/10/E...n__207310.html
5 euros but 10 euros shipping, you can PM me if you want a group command to delay port fee, because sometimes i buy on this site.
But question do you want to stich repro insigna on good caps ?

good morning to you, too, and thank you very much for your reply!
I already was contacted by a nice and helpful member who offered to aid me in my search.
The Weitze ones look good, but they are black, and i specifically look out for the "field grey" ones, just like in the picture i posted.
Yesterday, i found a source in the US that has some promising ones, too. I ordered a sample to see how that goes...
Oh, and don't worry, i won't put them on Originals! I make repro caps as a hobby, that's what they're for!
thank you again,
many greetings, Helen

i get most of my stuff from ebay, just keep your eyes peeled. Last time i bought 10 pairs for 15€! I know these are not 100% correct and all, but they do their job just fine!

oh FB, you know how to sweet-talk to a lady....
-
since i am here, i can tell you my experience with ordering these: German Assault Gunner Bevo Cap Wreath and Cockade EM Enlisted - WWII Gear
they looked so good and the price was nice as well, so i ordered 5, also to compensate for the immensely high shipping costs to europe.
what i got was this, the same cheap-looking ones i can find here for the same price.
When i complained to the seller, he told me that he didn't understand
and that the ones i got looked identical to the photo. Please tell me that i am not the only one seeing a huge difference here!
I am still looking for those better insignia...
