    could anyone enlight me with how the "frosting" is/ or was, aplied to items like the EK's.

    I believe Frosting is just a silver wash. Whether it's done chemically, electronically or just painted ,

    might of been a mix of all methods with the amount of makers of the iron cross during WW2

    It is that what I am looking for. The mixture (if there is), the way it ia applayed, and so on.
    Always looking for Belgian Congo stuff!

    I have never used the technique my self but I imagine that acid is used as a bath.
    I cannot tell you the type or strength of the acid used because I have never done it. It is primarily a commercial technique.
