    It is, what it is, and I would leave it well alone. You could end up doing more damage to it.

    Inded the whole thing could fall apart. A careful brush down should be all that is needed.

    Ensure there is no live moth infestation though and leave as is.

    First of all get it on a forme so it can get his origal shape back, and leave it for at least a year, after checking if there is any forme of live in it.

    Also place the paper which protects against bugs and moths inside ( or at least the spray)

    where are you? you include your email address I'll tell you how to clean that hat and also kill off any mites or moths in one simple method and it will knock you off your feet when you see the magnificent results, The colour will come back and the nap on the wool will come back like new The silk and the lettering will once again be as good as the day it was issued. This will happen right in front of your eyes! and it will be completed in less than 2 hours!!! Providing you can obtain the solution in your country
