How To Restore WWI Helmet with Repo Decals On It

Article about: I have a wwi german helmet with repo decals on it. Is there a way to take off the stickers with out ruining the helmet? It is a good looking helmet but the decal is fake.

    Like to see pics of it before we can help you.
    Sometimes a mix of 50% acetone with water on a Q tip may work. sometimes just a fingernail will do.

    I would try a dab of acetone/water dead center & see what it does. Careful not to get it on the paint, will kill the patina. All I can think of, I have seen it done before.
    Regardless of whatever method you may choose, probably will see signs of the removal depending on how long these have been on there

    Thanks, on the fence about doing it. Dont want to mess it up either.
