    Hello.
Here is the restoration of one of the Lebels, discovered in a search (excavation) in 2006 in the dunes of Malo baths, remains of the "Operation Dynamo", in May / June, 1940 (close to the Dunkerque).

    The lebel as is:

    The cleaned scrap and dégrippée

Wooden discount(delivery) (realized by my care, because originals are untraceable or extremely expensive)

Sight of the thunder. MATT 1893

    Finished stained woodwork

Markings of the reciever and breech
    manuf---TUL-- (manufacture d'arme de TULLE mod 1886 m93)

The animal in its entirety: D ( deactivated/neutralized)

Very nice indeed, well done on a superb restoration. It just shows what a little time patience and skill can do to what at first glance looks like a well past it relic. Great photo's thanks for posting.

Really a great job! How did you clean it so good, sandblast?
I have some rifles I picked or dug up from the battlefields which are in more or less the same condition, I'll post some pics.
They're a FN Mauser M36, a FN Mauser M89, a K98k (this one is sold to a forum member here), two barrels, one Gew88 and something else, a MG34 barrel and a SMLE .303 with fixed bajo.
All found in Holland, Belgium and France.
If any interest send me a PM.

    Expensively medécinecat hello
to answer your question, it is I which(who) made all the wood of the lebel by using an original modél which I have in collection (it represents a lot of work, but the resultat is attractive)

You did a fine job. I thought it was never before used replacement wood that had been stored in a French government warehouse. I have been looking for wood for Lebel and also Mannlicher Berthier and it seems that there is no more available in the world. Amitie, Medicinecat
