    Default M 16 German helmet?repaint it??

    Hello there from Greece!
I'm new here.I have a small collection of helmets and some other military things. The helmets are one NEW M1 with liner from the army stock, one Greek M34-39 and the following in the fotos. The helmet was too rusty.I found it in an old man stable and he was use it to store inside bolts, nuts etc.I was wire brush it and cleaned it as you see in the fotos. Now the questions.
I think that this is the M16 or M17.I dont have the liner.I'm i correct?
because the helmet dont have the paint or markings i'm thinking to repaint it.Will be correct to use the RAL6006?Or what other type of RAL code can i use for this type of helmet?

    Thank you
    George

thats a cracking looking ww1 lid you have, the patina that helmet has looks terrific!! if it was mine i would leave it well alone and not even think about covering it up with paint!!!! like the history of an old man using it for his nuts and bolts... great find mate

so,you are saying to finish the cleaning and keep it without paint?
what about to add a repro liner and chinstrap just to see it complete?what is this helmet price estimated?

    Great helmet !

    Don't "clean" it anymore ! !

Leave it as is, and don't paint it !

It's worth more the way it is.... !

It looks great the way it is you should just leave it like that, mabey add an old liner and chinstrap to complete it though.
    Thanks

You can "age" the rivets when you find an old matching liner.........

    just one more question please,
What RAL code is closer to the WW1 fieldgrau color?7009 or the 6006?
I think the second is more correct to it.
