how do you use electolys? can you use it on rust without damaging the paintwork?
I want to use it on a green m42 relic with some paint still there.

It must no damage the paint, but you need to use a very low Ampers and not use a warm soil liquid, approx 25-30 grad Celcium

On electrolysis removing paint work, from what I understand if the paint is attached to sound steel then fine no problem, however if the surface under the paint is rusted then you loose those areas as the paint will be forced off as the Iron oxide is stripped away from the steel. So be careful with items painted with synthetic enamel as rust can lay undetected under the painted surface
