I'm going to quit there while I'm ahead. Better a bit survives than what was there before. Problem with this is there is no return after, no second chance!

I've come to this a bit late it appears.The paint is modelling enamel. to remove it i would use turpentine and a soft cloth. It takes hours but is a lot milder than acetone and therefore kinder to any remaining decal.This is a method readily used by model makers.
