    Default medical box

    Hey,

This is my first post on the forum so here goes, I always like finding a good relic as does anyone, i was at an auto jumble this weekend when i spotted a ww2 american vehicle medical tin underneath the old car bits, the hinges were rusted shut but i snapped it up from the dealer (who didnt have a clue what it was! ) for £5 , i took it away and gently prised it open to reveal that it still had all its original medical equipment!! .. torniquet set, gauze pads, bandages etc..

I wondered, what is the best way to clean rust from paint and sort the hinges out?

    Cheers,

    Sam

(i'll try to get a piccie on sometime soon )

I would recommend putting a light household scouring pad VERY, VERY lightly over it, followed by a light coating of engine oil...just to preserve the remaining paint/markings etc.

    Good Luck with it anyway!

    Regards - Guy.
