    Removing paint from decals is one of the more dangerous aspects of restoring as any type of substance can immediately affect the applied decal, but a diluted acetone mixture used with a cotton bud and water used to dilute even more can produce a good result, the idea is to remove small layers of paint and water down in between applications, if your decal is genuine you dont want to remove the original lacquer covering the decal, if its a repro the chances are that any type of remover will melt it, do not use any type of abrasives
