Restoration: evapo-rust
I've been using Evapo-rust since a while and it is a great product, with a very low toxicity as well. I read that it was studied for military use but it is excellent for our restoration purposes. I've cleaned dug rusty parts and brought back to a level where evapo-rust turned a piece of rust into life, with markings again readible.
I am currently working on a p38 mag which was really a piece of scrap and after a bath of 2 days it is now possible to see the original metal and read the serial number on the bottom plate. Amazing!
As for everything, you should test it first on some scrap to know how to properly use it. Sometimes it is enough a quick bath of 30 mins to get a decent result and not alter the relic conditions.

Re: Restoration: evapo-rust
The formula is imported from US and sold here under patent. It is more expensive than in the US but it is really a great product. They may ship to UK, you could try to send them an e-mail since they have an english version of their website. I'm sending you the commercial link by PM.

Re: Restoration: evapo-rust
Could do with some for a helmet I bought. Checking out the website it turns out there's a place selling the stuff only a 20 minute drive away. Nice one.

So far I like it as well. To scared to use oxalic acid!
