A very dangerous part of South London - I'm not joking used to work in the area.

Have a look here for the background story to the tank.

I only have been in london twice, and never at this area.
    So i have no idea.
It seems very strange to find this "beast" in the middle of nowhere in the city.

Well that's the story - either that or it belonged to some local drug dealer (of which there are a few in that part of the world) who fancied something a bit bigger than a "Nine"

People with money will spend it on really stupid things sometimes- I saw the Ian Mckellar 'Richard the III' film when it came out-only remember seeing a T-55 break through a wall into a library-a bit too advanced a vehicle for a 1930s setting (as the film was).

I personally think that's an excellent use of money! haha. That would have been my dream playground... thanks for posting this, great story.
