    Dear Markus

It is a long time since we have "spoken" and I must say that I for one, do so like the SA buckle that you have so kindly posted.

The "pointy tips" to eagles wings are very distinct, very unusual and - super.

Attached are images of two buckles that I have and which with others, show slight similarities. The style of the twist to the eagles body is perhaps similar and the continual vein through the oak leaf spray is again, perhaps similar.

Your buckle shows a very unusual style of wing tip for an SA buckle Markus and overall, a great addition to your collection.

    Many congratulations.

    Regards,

    David

    Dear Markus and Ben

With regard to both the quite wonderful "first" buckle posted and those with the strange concentric circle design to the reverse, sorry, however I do not have a clue as to who the manufacturer may have been.

With regards to the "second" buckle, here is one with what I think displays the same roundel, however a completely different type and style of box.

There was so much "cross pollination" of component parts in the early and cottage industry days of buckle manufacturing, that it is at time near impossible to identify and at what stage, who did what.

    Regards and best wishes,

    David
