As said, the marking was explained as Nichols & Raimond by a German, a buckle expert from the 1970's;
the American stated it. So, that is what I have always thought.
The marking also exists as shown with a "rough" drawing, the American made in about the early 1980's.
As far as I know it also exists with the N directly to the R (no horizontal bars).
For me the combining of the N with the R is just a matter of design. Erno shows it in the next post and I
think he is close.
The explanation as Rudolf Fischer Nixdorf, which is RFN, does not match at all, as then the marking should
have started with the R and not with the N for the cityname.
Where my friends got the information I cannot remember. I did not make a note about it (it is over 30 years
ago). Maybe someone can state it with a letterhead or documentation. Then we all would know for sure!
Hello,

It could be like this?
Design as it is not so
The line up for the letters would not match when it is as RFN.
The R at the buckle is at the end and not in the beginning. I think no designer would start with naming the city first!
Maybe Zeppelin or Kirby can bring a large close-up in a good resolution.
Here you go.
Hello,
thank you Kirby but the pictures makes it not clear ......
This i found in WAF : SS Buckle by Rudolf Fischer, Nixdorf (Sudetenland) - Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums

Again guys, I have always associated Rudolf Fischer Nixdorf with this makers mark, from the evidence there is no distinct or definitive link but for my own personal opinion I think it is more likely to be Fischer, some where on my PC I have some period averts for some makers, Fischer may be one, I will post them if I can find them
