Friends, I think correctly, that the manufacturer of this buckle - Paul Cramer?

It is but I dont recall seeing a 72 stamped that way, also the triangle shaped ears I am not keen on either, I will have a look around and find other examples, or Markus or David North might look at the post, they both collect SA buckles

I think that this will turn out to be a fine original Paul Cramer buckle. All the Cramer SA buckles seem to have those ugly triangular ears, and the eagle design is consistent with Cramer also.

The one shown on this thread the makers mark is indented, the one Markus has shown the lettering is raised
