Zinc on brass (?) SA

Here is another strange SA that I will not be including within the pinned data base, purely because it is so very odd.

Appearing to be a zinc type finish on a brass base, although having said that, I do hold several examples of the exact design of eagle and swastika SA, in brass.

Any ideas ??

Perhaps unfinished ? Perhaps SA/NSKK "school" related ?

That certainly is a strange "setup", David. I don't know what to say: I have no idea why it would have been manufactured that way. Certainly an anomoly!

If I had to commit myself, I would say that the buckle finish as seen, is how it was meant to be.

Having said that, there is still the question as to which organisation the buckle was destined for.

A cheap (non pebbled) NSKK Motor School would be a favourite perhaps ?

First time I have seen this type of buckle with a finish like that, no doubt original but why that finish? Nice buckle anyway if not somewhat of an enigma
