I thought I took pics of the scabbard... but I did not... never talk and click.

blade has obviously been polished.... the guy at the show was not a dealer... said this dagger and another were lost for 20 years.. he recently found them.

I think it looks nice. I thought NSKK's only had the scabbard in black. Possibly a special order? I dont see any chips around the roundal where an ss would have been but was pried out..but who would swap out an SS for an SA?

I can't say it looks black to me, a nice item though

Saw this one - the scabbard was black, and almost totally scratch free.
I liked the particularly elegant Art Deco curves of the grip, and noticed
the light brown SA roundel. Flourescent tube lighting makes the nut
look chewed up, and the grip much lighter in the pics.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Other than the lack of a RZM which is good for this maker to be Marine. other than that I am not sure.?

I think its a nice early nickel one!

you have to figger out if its the manufactory lacquer ( finish to prevent the wood)) or that the black remains on the grip (which are still traces left) are traces of black paint.
If it has still traces of black paint then it would prop. have been a Marine SA dagger.
If its the lacquer to prevent the wood, then its a normal NSKK dagger.
Either way i like this great piece

    Cheers,
    Ger

I have a similar dagger in my collection. The grips was painted and most of that finish was worn off from handling. It has a blued anodized scabbard and is also a factory refinished Rohm dagger. I have always considered it to be a Marine SA dagger. It was purchased from the vet who brought it back about 25 years ago. I will dig it out and post some pictures on this thread when I can.
