Hi,
what does the PA stand for on the Crossguard?
Probably the owners initials.
Regards,
Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
From what i have learned from Larry C who has been helping me on dagges for the last month, It was at the time the largest i think metal firm in germany who produced these, and in their stamping markers mark was the PA. I also have these stamps in my chained SS dagger.
Ryan
Its the most commen maker of crossguards.
Lots of Firms used them on their daggers.
P. A. stands for Piel und Adey
another easy one you can find on an eickhorn: H. E.
it means: im hause Eickhorn ( the Eickhorn House)

Hi Chris..as you begin to collect these type daggers you will encounter other lettering and also a large or small punch point dot marking. You will be able to identify as you study these daggers what producers used the most. Some crossguards are unmarked also.
You will mostly find these markings on early period SA and SS daggers..which some will also be encountered in some instances in late model RZM types due to parts shortages......producers assembled what they had left over from the early years to complete production numbers. Regards Larry
