    Default Early SA August Kullenburg

This dagger I have had for a while but have not posted here on this forum. This dagger rates a 10 on the McSaar producer rarity list,,with Gruppe mark "Nrh" The scabbard is a deep anodized brown which is hard to detect in the photo but has 100% factory laquer. A 2pc hanger with an early long nosed clip, also accompanies the dagger with its near matching color and patina.
The logo has an "A" on top of a "K" laying on its side. This company is till in operation today who continues to make fine cutlery. Regards Larry

    Beautiful.

I always find it nice, when companies making cold steel has a long unbroken history of making blades - be it cutlery, swords or knives.

IMO it somehow ties in well with tradition.

Even though its no guarantee for quality, I just like the thought, I guess.

Although in this instance, I doubt that the company proudly displays this chapter of their company history in their product line-up or museum. A curse on PC - but then of course there is the (post war) German sensitivity towards the past.

Thanks gents these little cottage makers are getting harder to find anymore except for the ones that are in collections today. Once in a great while,,one will surface from out of the woodwork. What used to be common are now becoming a rarer find even the 3 and 4 rarities are becoming like 10s. I have not seen another from this maker anywhere and if you google it,, it will come back to me and also a list of links as this company is still in business today. Thanks again Gents for your comments. Best regards Larry
