Default Ernst Witte - Early SA Dagger

Here is a recent pick up coming out of a private collection....which I thought would of not been possible to find at all,, as the producer appears on the McSaar rarity list at a "9". So,, some where else a few of these have been seen.

Ernst Erich Witte is known to mainly make RLB daggers. There run of SA daggers must of been very limited IMO. The only other time I have seen this maker was featured in Tom Johnsons pictorial reference "German Daggers of World War II" pgs 412-414 ..... Theodore Eickes personalized SS honor dagger.

also included below is a variant first type logo used that was being offered on Tom Wittmanns site..which will be described below in the second post.

The Gruppe mark "P" for Pomerania is correct for this producer.

The photos will do the rest of the description..and the blade rates a near full mint minus slight runner marks...the crossgrain goes down to the blade tip.
This dagger in its present condition including the crossgrain..rarity of maker..would be next to none to upgrade. This maker in this condition is just not seen among SA collectors. Below are photos Regards Larry

Included in this post are pictured Theodore Eickes personalized SS Honor dagger...and the 2 other variants used by Ernst Witte...the one shown by Tom Wittmann appears to be a first variant used..lacking any detail...which would be comparable to the first type logo used by Ernst Pack & Sohn
