Hi there,

I am finally getting round to documenting last months SA dagger purchases. For this instalment, F. Herder A.S. (Cross Keys) SA dagger with hanger. Gruppe mark Nrh.

The etching on this dagger is outstanding - the motto catches your attention instantly. Furthermore, the eagle insignia is incredibly detailed with a stern looking eye and beak. The fit of the grip is almost flawless and dimensionally perfect. The blade point remains intact and looks very satisfying!

The scabbard retains little - but a modest amount - of its original finish, but this is made up for by the hanger which is in excellent condition. Furthermore, the scabbard tip remains intact and maintains its original form.

I don’t have enough space to display all daggers - instead, I like to rotate daggers on the stand that I have. The F. Herder will stay there for a period of time before he’s swapped for another in storage.

I welcome any requests for additional photos, positive feedback, criticism - all is fair game. Furthermore, thank-you to Larry C and other members for giving me a considerable amount of direction regarding my recent acquisitions. I am constantly looking to learn in this area of collecting and any guidance is always appreciated.
