Happened to chance upon this little beauty - bought in with the SS Rhome - Not cheap - but the "right price"

A lazy man's grind off on the Rhome dedication. Not as sexy as the full Rhome, but a million times better than the full grind. Complete with the original 3 piece hanger - this Eickhorn dagger has the most wonderful deep etch to it - and here's the cherry - a lovely period dedication engraved on the lower cross guard - not the holy grail but close - enjoy

Bought this along with the SA I have just listed - a wonderful and quite rare Ground Rohm SS - sadly the factory grind was good, and there has been some spotting on the blade. But the fittings are tight and nice, sadly the handle has been repaired - period?- but the anodised scabbard is lovely. And the bottom ball is not dented - marked 111 for Berlin on the lower cross guard .........Not often you see an early SS Rhome dagger. With the dedication it would be worth 15k.....oh well I'm happy

I just posted this as a separate thread, but I figured this is appropriate to post here as well! Here is my SA Full Rohm. If you want more of the history of this piece (as much as I know) then please see this thread here SA Full Ernst Rohm - Anton Wingen Jr.

Default Ground Rohm by Aug. Merten.

Heres my contribution to this thread. It is a ground Rohm by what seems to be a fairly uncommon manufacture August Merten of Solingen. It has a lazy grind and still shows remnants of the inscription.June 30 1934 - Rohm inscription patternJune 30 1934 - Rohm inscription patternJune 30 1934 - Rohm inscription pattern

HI Nick ...not in the greatest condition but due to its rarity ...impressive to say the least.

Due to its rarity ..I have a request for better photos of the blade The grip and crossguards , scabbard , ( Both sides on all )
Please post this dagger separately for further review in its own thread in this SA forum and I will link your new thread to your post here.

I am impressed to see the logo of this early producer close to the blade. The lighting in your photos are some what cloudy. Seeing a Merten Rohm dagger is the forums first. So if you may please....post a new thread with clearer photos . Looking forward to it.

Hello Kennu....yes I agree it is a coffee table conversation piece.
The top guard is plated late period production and the scabbard also late period production being the painted type.
    Dagger was parted together postwar.

The Blade ...Ugh >_< ...sad to see that as there is a lot of history in that dedication.
Thankyou for sharing and posting as your dagger is just as welcome here as the rest of them posted.

    Best Larry
