I could be dead wrong, but I don't like it. The eagle looks very odd, and the blade also. The RZM scares me even more. I think they produced daggers, but fakes are known to have it. It just looks poor quality. I hope I am proven wrong, but you never know. Good luck.
Hi Guys, a few observations.
The dagger is original and a later lower quality RZM peice. However, it has been taken apart, note the tool marks to the top screw which secures the blade in place. The major issue which I see is the top crossguard is not a good fit and might be a replacement? Note the much better wood to metal fit of the lower crossguard.
The grip eagle is fine. Later issues are alloy.
The blade features stippling to the background of the motto and RZM mark. This can be due to the poorer quality of metal and acid used to etch the marks. The blade really needs to be cleaned. I see a lot of fingerprints all over it.
Scabbard looks fine, just the usual dent to the ball chape. Later RZM issues usually feature painted scabbards.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Ade from proving me wrong. At least I can trust an RZM dagger, sometimes.
