Lovely piece here with a good fit.
I do have a bit of a concern: it looks like the blade has been cleaned with some kind of metal sponse ( scourer? )
Looking at the tip the metal colour is not what normal crossgrain would show, also left below the MM ( under SoLIN) the sanding lines are not straight on the blade but sweep lightly to the tip.
Just my observations.....

I think what you are seeing is my bad using flash for the photos. In hand the blade looks great and does not appear tampered with in any way.
