Btw...Gau mark is No and crossguard etc. looks like solid nickel meaning an early piece if i've got this right?

Hi Dave, you have it right. A good early pre RZM peice.

The marking, "No" is for SA Gruppe Nordsee . (Not Gau)

I would say the only we would need to see is some good clear close ups on the scabbard to check if the paint is all original.

    Cheers, Ade.

PS: and tell the seller to put it in the scabbard the right way around. This is one of my pet hates

i've gotten scabbart pics but also of poor quality..
I've seen some writing about "rareity" of makers?
Does anyone know about this spitzer?

Yes i noticed, and felt a bit proud as i'm fairly new to this, that he'd put it wrong :-)

Hi Dave, sorry, I am not keen at all on the paint. This would make me pass on the dagger if offered to me to be honest.

    Cheers, Ade.

The paint is also my concern...Maybe it's done later ...looks like it's dotted in a way so mabe the scabbard was rusting

Or maybe it's just a bad paintjob done by the sa guy himself, as i've read they did it in the early days?

The scabbard fittings look ok to me and "early" too?
