Hello All,

Posting this dagger on behalf of an interested friend. Edged weapons are an area of limited knowledge for me. All appears okay with this early dagger to my eyes but we'd like to know about more the maker, Hammesfahr. It looks as though it has a fairly good blade with a bit of cross-graining still remaining. Also looks like it bears an Ost. district stamp. Perhaps a slight chip in the enamel of the SA button?Curious if the the wood used here cherry? I've consulted Paul's site, Lakeside Trader and it seems the price of $600 USD all included for this one might be pretty fair.

Hi Adam, I cannot really add anything more to what you already have written, expect to say it is a good original dagger.

Gottlieb Hammesfahr was a good maker.

Hi Adam, this is a very nice origional early quality NSKK dagger with its hanger
its maybe had a light clean at some point but for $600 its a very good dagger with plenty of crossgrain left on the blade
