    Good looking dagger.
Is the black colour in the letters on the blade the original filled-in colour?
(on my dagger, there are only the letters - all colour faded/worn away)

    Thanks for quick answer.
Wish mine had retained some colour in the letters.
Hope you get more info about your maker ASAP.
    My dagger is marked EICKHORN.

I like it! Check out the McSarr list. mines 10 of 10 on the McSar list of rare early SA makers. You might be able to google it. I think that's how I found mine.

The first SA shown E.P.&S. as well as Eickhorn are the most often found SA daggers. Eickhorn was by far the most prolific dagger maker.

While each dagger has to be looked at individually, I donít think that itís fading as much as whether or not the maker used a two step process specifically to darken the mottos. With traditional etching by itself varying from a lighter to a darker gray. FP

Interesting. There is what looks like a faint shadow to the letters on mine, so maybe that was simply how it always was/has been. Thanks for input.
