SA Dagger by Carl Schmidt & Sohn AG Solingen

Article about: I have just read that this maker is considered rare, with a 9 out of 10 on the rarity scale as written by McSarr. This maker perhaps only produced around 1000 examples. Cheers, Ade.

Hi Jason, welcome to the forum!

The "Wf" on the crossguard stands for SA Gruppe Westfalen . This mark is often found on SA daggers liberated by British servicemen as the region lay on the axis of advance of the British Liberation Army in 1945.

Hi Scott, I too am fond of SA's. Glad you like the dagger.

    Cheers, Ade.

Early SA's in that condition are hard to find, a nice one to have in a collection. Thanks for showing. Hal

Hi Ian, well the timeline would fit. It would be ironic if it was the same one. Small world eh?

I recall going to Chris' shop back in the late 70's. It was raining and the roof leaked and he had buckets everywhere

    Cheers, Ade.
