I have a SA transitional dagger as well. I've never seen a rzm like that, is that common for this maker?
I'm not saying it fake btw, just never seen the rzm like that.

From what I have seen this is how the transitional Klaas SA's are marked.

Wow check out the huge gap between the grip & top crossguard !!!

Might have been replaced from another dagger ?, Hex on the top nut chewed up badly as well, apart from that a nice enough dagger

Sorry to say Dutchy but it looks to me like it has either had a grip replaced or the cross guards, as Mac says look at the gap in the top crossguard and in the lower crossguard there is a step where it meets the crossguard,
    cheers Ronnie

On Many transitional daggers craftmanship had not quite gone out the window yet as I would expect to see this type of gapping on a Late SA,, by that time there was no honor or craftmanship during assembly....yet on the other hand,,, I feel its still original in many aspects. Compare to other Transitionals that were made during the period and you will see a difference between the mid and late periods. Still a nice pick up,, and hopefully priced reasonably Regards Larry

    Hello all,

I have had several woodwork daggers like this beauty and have no real issue with the gap on the side. Beautiful transitional.
