Someone removed the original eagle and placed something else instead.
Oh No!!...Raped and left for dead. The grip destroyed by the hands of a improvisation specialist.
Hi Mr Biggles..sadly this dagger is total parts dagger..the grip is worth nothing....the guards and scabbard are the later type seen..the blade is early..and might have some worth to it. A better example can be found either early or late period.
The Reichsbund organization did not exist within the SA. This looks to be an auction item...and just curious let us know what that dagger sold for. Regards Larry

Thanks for the replies, you confirmed my fears.
The condition was not best but the defaced badge to the grip is too much to even consider it. Quite why the RDB badge would end up on an SA knife is beyond me.
Makes you wonder who does such things and why they would do them.
It is indeed in an auction this Thursday, I will report the price, am curious myself. THe search continues
Wow...I think I'd rather have the Owl Lamp....

Thankyou Mr. Biggles for your contribution as it has been entered into the "Best of the Worst" hall of fame thread. It is a prime example of when someone wants to create a non existent branch of service..for monetary gain. sad to see this happen.

It did seem staggeringly bad, did not even merit the 10 mile drive to view the item.
Shame to see something destroyed like this for no apparent reason.
Not quite sure how this is possible but the dagger went for £200
It's possible, because there are a Lot of stupid but Greedy people out there thinking they are smarter than everyone else and are buying a Treasure that all the dumb people were too stupid to know enough to Buy...
