    LOL !

Indeed he could.......but treasure hunters with masses of intelligence haven't found it so far so chances of him finding it are, I would suggest, rather minute

I find metal detecting on US bases is the easiest. I have been doing it here in Germany for 3 years. Also I do some woods searching, mostly after 5 pm on weekdays. Getting a farmers permission is also a good policy.

We need to ensure we give the correct and legal advice please guys. Getting the landowners permission is a must. Playing the dumb **insert nationality here** should never arise as your searches should be totally above board and legal.

This forum cannot and will not condone illegal acts of any kind.

    Thanks

Thats exactly right, anything done should follow the law in each country. Btw. even archeologists in Finland have to have permission to use a metal detector on historic sites, including those of ww2 and ww 1.

On my last visit to K-town a bar owner found a helmet in the garden and stopped digging because he didnt want to find anything else. His wife is going to ask if I can have it. Its all rust with no liner but at least I know its real and it will be my first ground dug item so to speak. I know several Germans who use MD around here where skirmishes were fought. Its cool what they find.

Plus i think the Polizei have probably heard that one before quite a few times since 1945 so i wouldn't guarantee it will work .

Germany has very strict laws on metal detecting !!
