    Default Electrical Field Damage?

Hi folks.Wonder if anyone can help me? Since the day I had two metal detectors in my car in close proximity to my C.D/Radio the dam thing wont work.It wont even switch on.Is this pure coincidence or does the elictrical field of a metal detector do damage to these things?
    Thanks

Well, I've had my MDs in the car on many occasions but never had any problems with a radio or any other electrical item. I can't imagine there is a huge amount of power in the field generated by an MD coil, especially given that the field is generated by a couple of batteries !

But then again my physics knowledge only stretches to A-Level grade so what would I know !

Hopefully we've got a decent physicist around here who can answer
