The rear visor is stiff. It may crack when bending to where it belongs.
The liner is present but toasty. I have it on the head so I can reshape it as the rear was caved in.
I saved this Pickelhaube today.
It was a shed find that some kid was selling on FB Marketplace.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Its far from perfect.
I have it on the head to try to re-shape it.
Thanks guys. I thought so but wanted to confirm.
I am sure I will pass on it now.
Hello,
I was offered this Israeli K-98 bayonet.
The seller is looking for $150 for it.
I have seen them on Ebay go for more than $200.

If you store them in a non humid area rust/corrosion does not seem to spread.
Get a gage to measure humidity.

I do want to learn more about the helmet and decal. I just meant that when I posted the helmet I did so quickly. I did not emphasize the decal in the posting because I did not have...
Thank you for your input.
As for the decal I can try to post some close ups later tonight but I really do not have any concerns.
As for the maker mark, I looked on the skirt and couldn’t find...
The RA prefix indicates 1950s era.
Looks like it could have been a parade helmet due to the chroming.
I think it is a very nice helmet.
I have a couple in my collection and I think they are under-rated.
These covers were used during the Vietnam War along with Mitchell pattern covers.
One of my...
Honestly it might be cheaper to buy another helmet than try to put this on back to "original".
Also you can never really make it original.
I would look for a nice Fixed bail/loop.
I was not sure whether to post this helmet under the WWI Imperial section or this section.
Since it would have been likely used during WWII I decided to post it here.
Here we have a nice M17...
I personally do not think the Army re-built helmet liners.
I think that the company used old stock WWII shells to build 1950s liners.
Just MHO
Noyce find Eric!!!!
My friend has this dagger. His Uncle served in WWII and brought it back.
The maker is A.W. JR Solingen.
It appeared to be a Heer dager to me except the eagle hand guard is Gold instead of Silver....
"Yes these were used right up to the introduction of composite helmets but I believe 99.9% at the end would have been rear seam swivel bale low pot shells and if this one were still in service by the...
Welcome to the Forum!
Looks to me like a post WWII repaint - possibly Korean era.
But the military used these helmets all the way up through the 1980s.
So it could have been in service in the...
