Here is another oil painting I picked up yesterday. It's not a German U-boat but of a 40's US Sub. The painting (I think) is a very good reproduction of an original painting of the USS Growler...

Yes, it is a very dramatic image. The colors are very striking. Who ever did this painting certainly knew what they were doing.

I've notice some very good U-boat paintings over the years—from various German era artist.

Here is one I picked up the other day certainly a post war copy—but a very good display piece anyway.
