The document for the medal appears to be authentic, but given the assessment of others regarding this group I would definitely pass. If original, the document would be the only original item in this...

I agree, the badges appear to be original, rising prices notwithstanding.
Interestingly, to me anyway, the last two nuts would be for the People's Commissariat of Communication Routes of the...

Order of Lenin #327723
I concur, an authentic Order of the Red Star. It appears the obverse center medallion has been polished.

I can not speak to its authenticity.
I know. Apparently the vendor had two for sale, Paul purchased the latter, as you said, "not the same medal as the original post." The link did not work for me so I simply posted the pictures of...

Meyerse, I do have a comment/opinion on the inflation issue. I do live in the United States, if that makes any difference. I think it depends where, what and from whom you purchase. Certain...
I agree, a reputable dealer based on my experience.
Both examples shown appear to be authentic. I would purchase #96392, which was probably awarded 1943, and have it researched.
Here is #91677 awarded January 30th, 1943 to Lieutenant Georgy...
Yes, it appears to be a genuine example.
Outstanding exposition! These documents many times tell us quite a story. Your obvious respect, appreciation & research of this man are indeed commendable, orders and medal notwithstanding.
I would translate "Управление" as "Administrative Office" or "Management Office" of the 42nd Separate Guards Heavy Tank Smolensk Red Banner, Orders of Suvorov, Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Red Star Brigade...
The second signature is Captain Mazorsky (Мазорский) however I am unable to make out his title.
Given the price I strongly suspect it's a reproduction. An original example would be much more expensive and rare. There is an one listed at Collect Russia for $5800.
Besides enamel, they are made of silver, about 28 grams.
