The interior doesn't match the wear of the outside of the lid.....looks like a repro replacement
They also came in a range of bright colours....orange and yellow, and a bone colour

The gold bird seems to be poor quality and a bit misshapen and out of proportion fro my liking
WW2 fat containers only require a quarter turn to open.....post war ones screw down a few times before they are sealed

Didn't offend me mate, I just think the lid is perfectly fine as it is.....but at the end of the day, if you buy it, it's yours to do with as you please

It's possible to refir another liner, but why do it? It takes away from the history of this particular lid....it would just become another shell with a repro liner which no collector would like as it...
