Thanks Pat - they are indeed nice pieces. However, once I taught myself how to take some decent photographs made them look even better. It's amazing what decent lighting and backdrops can do. :)

A nice cap, but $14,000?? And an SS NCO for $17,000?? I often think Mr Shea is another of these dealers thinking "I'll add on an extra $5K or 6, 7 or 8 and see what sucker comes along" and eventually...
Haven't been here for a while, so I thought I would bump this old thread back up with a few additions. These are some of my favorite SS posters from my collection.

Surely Karner would have done a Mercedes or BMW - an Allach Ford Exploer makes me want to laugh my head off.....
that is a good spot for it.
Looks more like the head of a chicken than an eagle.
I doubt that's a piece of Allach porcelain, especially when all the pics are clear and focused - except the ones of the marking.
I don't think I've seen that type referred to as "flatwire" before.
I've seen them referred to as "late war" but "machine woven". I can't recall seeing any period photos of them being worn though....
Sorry but this poster on your website is a reproduction. It's a very poor copy and missing specific information - it looks nothing like an original.
I'll add the extra 1% - now you can be 100% sure it's a fantasy item.
Hi jotuntroll - nice to see some originals of these for a change, instead of copies. Harald Damsleth was a great artist.
Thanks for showing your collection. :)
Yes the paper is too glossy and it's been cropped at the bottom. This is quite often the case with reproductions where the fakers chop off the base of the poster.

As they say - good things come to those who wait. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n219/tonyss_2006/SMILIES/anim_jump.gif
Best of luck with your search - it took me 9 years to find this one. I've never even seen another one for sale.
I thought I would share this with the forum members. While just about every SS collector has seen this reproduced somewhere, few people have ever seen an actual surviving war time copy of this famous...
That jacket certainly lacks the style of an SS Generals tunic. Pohl looks rather lackluster in that photo to say the least.
Pohl should have kept in tight with someone like Skorzeny. There was an...
Very nice Francesco. :)
The runes tab on the right might be okay but the other one appears to be done without the cardboard unterlagen (template) which kills it for me, and that skull tab is just as bad as the cuff title.
It has some similarities to the fake "Caravelle" Oberbayern cuff titles that are done by some guy in France.
Here's an example.

Even though these have been seen a gazillion times, I'll add them to the thread.
Two white piped and another one of those crazy contraversial color piped ones.
It's nice to see...
Good work Anders. :)
Nice to see he has a head to put his hat on now............:D
Yeah I agree, those banners were great. :)
Hi Ade,
Yes a nice textbook hand embroidered officers eagle.
With collectors holding onto them like gold (actually these are worth more than their weight in gold) and all the fakes popping up,...
Hi Dimas,
I don't own the one I posted (it is for sale though for $3650.00)
I see you or someone else posted your one on the WAF and nobody liked it there either.
Did it come from Espenlaub...
This is more like what I would expect
