Your pic...shows a vertical seam in the front. I don't see that in the OP. His seam is in the rear. But an interesting image, will save this & bring the image to the SOS. They appear to be tie string...

My estimate on value was too high. The early war covers however do fetch that. This cover has been discussed at length with a few collectors & the info passed to the OP.
