Thanks for the link to the Mauthausen pics. I see Otto Kumm, Fritz Klingenberg, Hausser, and what appears to be Lehmann. Should put a stake in the "I know nothing" alibi.
Here is an unknown...
I do not know the name of this Brigadefuhrer, but he put on his Sunday best for Himmlers inspection of Mauthausen in 1941:
On second thought, I am automatically assuming that his A-SS and W-SS ranks were the same, which we know did not always occur. So both the tuxedo shot and the broadcasting pic could have been...
Very interesting. However, when was his promotion to Standartenfuhrer? Interesting how, during wartime, he continued to wear the black uniform while broadcasting:
Courtesy of F-B, the shop window of Uniform-Stubben in 1942. Note the A-SS Officer's visor for sale at the foot of what appears to be the SS tux:
Don't know if this counts or not, but this is Gunter D'alquen wearing the SS "tuxedo", sometime after his promotion to Standartenfuhrer in either 43 or 44:
KvK winner Albrecht Brummenbaum wearing his black uniform on the day of his award, October 1, 1944:
KvK winnter Ernst Ritter wearing his black uniform in 1942:
Probably the closest there is to an A-SS uniform worn by an RKT--
Max Wuensche wearing one of his pre-war cut tunics after being awarded the RK in '43:
My suspicions were correct--pic is a fake, and is from an unknown movie. Here is the color pic:
This was posted on the WAF--an SS RKT wearing the black uniform. Supposedly, this is a still from a newsreel. However, the it appears to be a marriage ceremony, and the girl is almost too...
This is off the WAF, and the poster has his Kripo disc and ID card.
Pic is dated 1942--note the EK ribbon. Note the wear of the M-36 Dagger, and the piped SD Raute:
This has to be one of the last pics of the black uniform in wear--
the September 30th, 1944 awarding of the KVK to SS Standartenfuhrer Heinrich Pehle:
Even better pic. F-B, are you aware of any W-SS men who wore the black uniform with their Knights Cross?
Another view:
I have been searching for pics of an RKT in black uniform, to no avail. The closest is probably Wunsche in his open-collar pre-war cut tunic.
I did find another pic of Zschirnt:
