The Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 to 1961.

Invicta (unconquered) relates to the 1060's when William the conqueror just after the battle of Hastings met a strong force in Kent. Rather than risk another battle he made peace and granted the people of Kent the right to continue to use the white horse as their emblem. The horse of Kent dates right back to the time of Horsa and Hengest between the 6th - 8th century.
