    Default Soviet Overcoat?

I picked up this Soviet Overcoat at a flea market a couple days ago. I know nothing about Soviet jackets but I thought it was cool so decided to buy it. Does anyone know what rank of officer would wear this, and what date or era it's from? Thanks!

I have no background in this kind of uniform. Those who do will no doubt ask for some inside photos - especially any markings. NH

Yes, a typical postwar, perhaps 80's, shinel with the rank of lieutenant colonel (podpolkovnik) of Mechanized Troops.

I just noticed that there is a '72' on the back of every button on the coat, so I'm assuming it's from the 70's.

In Russian, the lowercase letter Т is sometimes written as m so both m and т are read as T
