Infantry pickelhaube

Article about: Nothing special, but my first pickelhaube, marked to IR 137. I believe the chinstrap is a repro; not sure about the cockades. It's nice and complete, at least pending an original chinstrap.

Congrats! I know very little about these but want my first as well one day. A must have for any serious collector!

Agree that the strap appears to be new.

I'm no expert but your pick looks to be in pretty good condition. Congratulations.
The parts all look to be original except for the strap and cockades. (I think they are replacements)

Strap is a replacement, but originals are hard to find. I've taken to using original buckles and post loops with new leather on some of by helmets. Looks good, nice example of a line enlisted helmet . 2. Unter-Elsässisches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.137 (Hagenau) XXI Armee Korps
