This could very well be a Spanish used M26. The Spanish republic purchased helmets from France.
These were delivered without the frontal slits for an emblem.

not Belgian, IMO French for export.

I am now convinced this is a French export Adrian, probably Spanish Civil War. Not sure if that particular shade of paint is a clue or not. I read most were either blue/grey or khaki. This is more of a green.
