    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and thought this would be a good first post. It is a WW2 Japanese Senninbari. It appears to be signed by the family. Would anyone be able to transcribe the names?

    Nice first post! Looks fantastic!

Hopefully Nick or Guy will be around to help with the translation!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

It was made by the National Defense Women's Society for Ikeda Hanjiro. The last kanji is covered, so I'm taking a guess [within brackets].

    Mr. Ikeda Hanjirō

Location? I cannot find it in Google. I see there is a town called 府招 Fumaneki...????

    Guy,

Thank you so much for helping me translate the Senninbari! I asked someone else to translate it as well and they said that the location is Fumaneki-Kami (a district located in Imari City, Saga Prefecture in Kyusyu, Japan). I wish I could find out more history on the soldier that owned it.

    Thank You,
    ---Joel
