Decal seems like a repro ET Style decal but also resembles the “big foot” decal to me also I would steer clear of it IMO because I never even knew DD M40’s existed until lately since hearing advance Collector’s talk about it and are apparently extremely rare and almost do not even exist. To me it seems like someone slapped two repro decals on it but wait for others opinions of coarse.

Nice helmet , it would not have come out of the factory with another decal there.
What was removed is hard to say , I see a RAD decal shape but it could be anything.

the decal is a correct E Jutnner.

Agree...Juttner decal appears correct. Odd to see it on an EF M40 though.....

Not really Dave , Juttners were supplied on EF M40's and M35's. On M42's I have not observed them.
Here's one I used to own.

Never noticed Frank. Thanks. Often seen on Quist M40's also
I have become so picky the last few years.....if a helmet does not have what I consider the standard, factory house decal for a particular maker...I don't bother. A bit "Anal" but that's me !!
    Thanks again, D.

Geez Frank. Had one myself recently !!

LOL we all have our collecting preferences but the Juttner is an EF and Q house decal. Less seen on both makers on M40's.

Many thanks for all your answers until now.

Just for recap, you are saying it is unusual and quite rare in this configuration, but it is a genuine helmet, correct?

I might have a chance to buy it, would you go for it?

    Thanks again!
