    I recently purchased this Japanese Navy cap from a estate sale and was curious if anyone could date it. It looks a little different from the WWII ones I have seen, so I am guessing it is post WWII or a reproduction. Any help would be appreciated.

    Post war (1) it reads from left to right; (2) it is dated Showa 49 (1974).

    横須賀教育隊
    Yokosuka Education Corps

    Their website calls it "Yokosuka Recruit Training Center).
