Naval Flak Helmet?

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is any record of the US Navy getting their hands on M3 Flak helmets and using them? An antiques shop near me has an M3 Flak Helmet painted navy blue and it has some wear, but I'm just not sure if its original. I can't find any photos of flak helmets in use aboard Naval vessels. Does anyone know if that happened?

EDIT: Could it have possibly been used on a carrier based bomber like a PBY, PBM, etc?

Certainly not beyond the realm of possibility. I would have to see it to believe it too
